Lama Gyurme Rabgye

Tibetan born master painter and craftsman Lama Gyurme began his training when he was fifteen after receiving an invitation to study at Mindroling Monastery.He studied with masters who created the famous paintings of Korkyim Monastery.  As his  talents for the tradition of Tibetan painting developed so did his adeptness in the ritual arts.  He was appointed umdze, leader of the chants and held that position until he left in 1998. During his time at the monastery he assisted with the restoration of hundreds of the temple’s paintings. He has spent the past 15 years living in America.  He spends his days practicing, painting, and teaching in Santa Fe where he lives with his wife and son.
